Some of the best vista properties in Aspen are located in McLain Flats, encompassing panoramas of all of the ski areas and the Elk Mountain Range from Aspen to Sopris. One of Aspen's most prestigious residential areas, the private neighborhood situated halfway between Aspen and Woody Creek boasts all-day sun and valley-wide views. The town of Woody Creek is just minutes away with the famous Woody Creek Tavern, art gallery and post office.
The area is instilled with ranching history, artistic legacy and rural charm. Conserved open lands and magnificent views with native oak, aspens and evergreens reside over a dramatic and ever-changing landscape of meadow, mountain, water, and sky. The closest neighbors are a resident herd of 200 elk which can be seen grazing in the meadows in the morning.

Halfway between Aspen and Woody Creek and just a ten-minute drive to Aspen, this neighborhood allows for luxurious country living in a natural and quiet area with proximity to everything the area offers.
Recreation
Local spots for hiking include the Sunny Side trail or hop on the bike path from McLain Flats to town in addition to fishing and rafting on the Roaring Fork River. There's great skiing in all directions: Ajax Mountain in Aspen, Aspen Highlands up the Maroon Creek valley, Buttermilk along Highway 82 or Snowmass Ski Area.
